Prez Mukherjee attends convocation of Military College, hails technology

New Delhi, Dec 19 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherejee who attended the Convocation of Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering in Secunderabad on Saturday, hailed the use of technology to better military advancements.

The President said, "Accelerate pace of military innovation by adapting latest developments in the field of technology."

"Define & modify the way defence forces operate, by using technological advances."

He also lauded the Indian Army, terming them as the torch bearer for many non-military innovations.

President Mukherjee said, "Indian Army has been the torch bearer of many non-military innovations."

He also said that military technology have helped in building the nation.

"Military Technology has benefitted civil society immensely. Military Technology’s spin-offs have contributed significantly to nation building."

The Prez also urged the military college to develop and upgrade new technologies, as it will help the Indian Army gain an edge over potential enemies.

"History of warfare bears testimony to the decisive role of technology on the outcome of military conflicts. To maintain an edge in military capability over potential opponents, constant efforts are required to upgrade tech."
