Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Kochi, to take aerial survey of flood-hit parts of Kerala today
Kochi, Aug 18 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kochi on Saturday and will later undertake an aerial survey of the flood-hit parts of Kerala.
PMO India tweeted: "PM @narendramodi arrived in Kochi, where he will take stock of the unfortunate flood situation across Kerala."
Modi arrived in Kerala on Friday.
Before arriving in Kerala, Modi tweeted: "Leaving for Kerala to take stock of the flood situation in the state."
In the past nine days, 324 people have lost their lives as Kerala is witnessing incessant rain and resulting flood situation for the past few days.
The Official Twitter page of the Kerala Chief Minister said: "Kerala is facing its worst flood in 100 years. 80 dams opened, 324 lives lost and 223139 people are in about 1500+ relief camps. Your help can rebuild the lives of the affected. Donate to https://donation.cmdrf.kerala.gov.in #StandWithKerala."
More two lakh people have been displaced in the state.
