Amritsar/IBNS: The Punjab Police have recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) from a child's double decker tiffin box at village Daleke here Sunday evening.

The police's recovery was informed by Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta in a press meet Monday.

The DGP informed that on the intervening night of Aug 7 and 8, drone sounds were heard.

Then the police received an input that a suspicious bag was lying there, which was delivered by the drone. Inside the bag, seven pouches were found.

Five hand grenades, one tiffin and 100 cartridges were recovered. The NSG team was also called.

The tiffin, which was fitted with a switch based on a relay mechanism, had 2-3 kg of explosive material. The box also contained a PCV for remote control mechanism.

The tiffin bomb was assembled by some experts, said the DGP.
