Rahul Gandhi slams Arun Jaitley, says UPA was transparent on prices
New Delhi, Feb 10 (IBNS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi has countered Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley who had backed Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's unwillingness to reveal the deal price of the Rafale jets citing as "classified details".
In a tweet, Rahul has lashed out at Jaitley who had said the Congress chief is ignorant of the rules of the government.
Rahul's tweet reads, "Dear Mr Jaitlie, You said the UPA never released prices of Defence purchases? To nail your lie, here are 3 Parliamentary replies by the UPA with full transparency on pricing. Now do ask our Raksha Mantri to tell India how much each RAFALE jet cost."

The Congress chief has furnished proofs by attaching some of the documents with his tweet from 2010 when the UPA government had revealed the prices of an aircraft carrier.
AK Anthony was then Defence Minister of the country.
The Congress had alleged that Reliance has been picked as a partner to a French firm Dessault for "crony capitalism" in the Rafale jet fighter deal.
The principal opposition party had even alleged that the company has led to an "insurmountable loss" to the public exchequer with the Rafale fighter jet deal where Dessault will provide 36 Rafale jets to the Indian Air Force.
On Thursday, Arun Jaitley echoed Sitharaman's words saying Rahul should understand that the information is classified.
"I charge the Congress of seriously compromising India's security...Mr Modi has run a clean government for last four years, so let us manufacturer a crisis, let us manufacture an issue," Jaitley said.
He also advised Rahul to learn "lessons on national security" from former Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
Rahul on Tuesday told media the unwillingness to reveal the details of the deal implies that it is a scam.
