Jaipur, Mar 11 (IBNS): NPP MLA from Rajasthan Kirodilal Meena joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday.

Meena joined the ruling BJP in the presence of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.

Apart from Meena, his wife Golma Devi and MLA Geeta Verma joined the BJP.

Raje congratulated Meena and other members for joining the BJP.

"I congratulate senior leader Kirodilal Meena,  his wife Golma Devi, MLA Geeta Verma and other workers for re joining the BJP," Raje tweeted.

Meena had left the BJP in 2008.

He had fought the elections in 2008 as an independent candidate. He had supported Ashok Gehlot.

Gehlot had become the Chief Minister of Rajasthan later.

During Gehlot's tenure, Golma Devi had served as a state minister.

In 2013, Meena had joined the NPP.

Meena joined the ruling party just months before Rajasthan is expected to vote to elect a new Assembly.
