Telangana CM likely to announce dissolution of assembly for early polls in state
Hyderabad, Sept 2 (IBNS): Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao might announce the dissolution of the state assembly on Sunday so that elections can take place earlier than scheduled, media reports said.
He wants the Telangana Assembly elections to be held along with that of four other states later this year, NDTV reported quoting sources.
The Telangana state cabinet is holding a meeting on Sunday to discuss the same.
The term of K Chandrasekhar Rao's government will end in May 2019.
As per schedule, the elections should happen along with the Lok Sabha polls.
September 2 is the fourth anniversary of Telangana's formation.
The ruling TRS is likely to present a report card of its achievements during the four years to the people of the state.
