'Thank Indian brothers and sisters for rescuing us': Afghan woman after arriving in Delhi
Delhi: An Afghan woman, who arrived in India this morning with the 168 evacuated, said the situation in Afghanistan is fast deteriorating and thanked the "Indian brothers and sisters" for rescuing her, reported news agency ANI.
The woman told news agency ANI that the situation in Afghanistan was worsening at a rapid rate and her daughter and grandchildren were forced to flee after the Taliban burned their house.
"Situation was deteriorating in Afghanistan, so I came here with my daughter and two grandchildren. Our Indian brothers and sisters came to our rescue. They (the Taliban) burnt down my house. I thank India for helping us," the unidentified woman said.

The 168 passengers, including 107 Indians, evacuated by an Indian Air Force plane from Kabul, landed at the Hindon air base near Delhi.
The evacuees also included two Afghan senators and 24 Afghan Sikhs among the evacuees.
"I feel like crying...Everything that was built in the last 20 years is now finished. It's zero now," a visibly emotional Afghanistan's senator Narender Singh Khalsa told news agency ANI upon landing in Delhi.
An ANI video showed an infant among those among the safely evacuated. In the video the child is in the arms of his/her mother and a young girl (apparently, the older sister) smiles and kisses the baby.
