Three die in Mumbai-Pune Highway as tanker hits car, overturns

Pune: Three people died on the spot while four others were seriously injured near Khopoli ghat on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway when a tanker rammed into two cars and overturned in the opposite direction.

As soon as this information was received by police, Assistant Police Inspector Mahesh Chavan rushed to the spot along with his colleagues and admitted the injured to the nearest hospital for treatment.

The tanker was removed after the company's team reached the spot.

The said gas tanker and both the cars were going from Pune to Mumbai. The names of those killed in the accident are yet to be ascertained, police said. Khopoli Police is conducting further investigation into this incident.
