Two drug peddlers arrested with drugs in Manipur’s Thoubal

Guwahati/IBNS: Security forces have arrested two drug peddlers and seized contraband drugs in Manipur’s Thoubal district.

Based on intelligence input about the transportation of illegal drugs from Lilong towards Thoubal side, a team of CDO Thoubal conducted random frisking and checking near Waithou OP on NH-102.

A top police official of Thoubal district said that, one alto car was coming towards thoubal side in a very suspicious manner.

“On their suspicious behavior our team stopped the car for verification. On verification they were identified as Md. Sabir khan (33) and Md. Nawaj sharif (22) and on searching the car one LED lamp box was found containing suspected to be simplex plus (controband items) 970 pieces in a black polythene were recovered, which belongs to them hence they had been arrested from the spot further on their thorough body searched,” the police official said.

The police personnel had also recovered two mobile phones, four ID cards and Rs 1050 in possession from them.

The arrested persons and the seized items were handed over to Thoubal police station for further necessary legal actions.
