UP: Muslim man tied to tree, beaten up and forced to say Jai Shree Ram, 2 arrested

Police have arrested two people in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district after a video went viral on the social media where an alleged Muslim labour was seen tied to a tree on the suspicion of theft, beaten, and forced to raise Jai Shri Ram slogans.

Shakeel, the father of the labourer Sahil, has alleged that his son was sent to jail after the incident, reports NDTV.

He also told the media that the police was allegedly asking him to strike a compromise with the accused and threatening him.

Asaduddin Owaisi, Hyderabad MP and chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), shared the video of the incident on Twitter and slammed the UP Police.
