Water train reaches Latur
Latur, Apr 12 (IBNS) The water train, which is carrying around five lakh litres of water, reached drought-hit Latur in Marathwada region of Maharashtra on Tuesday.
The steam-cleaned 50 tank wagons were dispatched from Kota in Rajasthan on Friday and filled with water at Miraj in Maharashtra.
"Railways sends 'water train' to parched Latur in Maharashtra," Ministry of Railways tweeted.
Marathwada has been facing severe drought.
