Why Amit Shah's son Jay not arrested? Hardik Patel raises question

New Delhi, Mar 2 (IBNS): Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel on Friday asked why Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah's son Jay, who is involved in an alleged corruption case, has not been arrested yet.

Hardik made the comment in the context of former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram's son Karti's arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in an alleged money laundering case.

Hardik tweeted in Hindi, "If Chidambaram's son Karti can be arrested, why not Amit Shah's son Jay?"

An article on The Wire, titled 'The Golden Touch of Jay Amit Shah', which was published on October 8, claimed that junior Shah's company recorded a 16,000-times increase in turnover in just one year.

Jay Shah's company has allegedly recorded a turnover of Rs 80.5 crore in 2015-16.

Karti, who was arrested on Wednesday, has been sent to a five-day CBI custody on Thursday.

He was earlier taken into a one-day custody following his arrest.

A case was filed against Karti by the Enforcement Directorate in May last year alleging irregularities in the grant of Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance to INX Media for receiving foreign investment of over Rs. 300 crore in 2007.

P Chidambaram, a Congress veteran, was serving as the Union Finance Minister during that period.

The CBI had filed separate case against Karti and others on the basis of information about alleged illegal payments made by INX media.
