'31st October' gets a Standing Ovation at the London Indian Film Festival
Produced by Magical Dreams Productions Pvt Ltd and Harry Sachdeva and directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil, ‘31st October’ is based on true events and revolves around a Sikh family in Delhi, which gets stuck in a dangerous situation during the anti-Sikh riots following the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards on 31st October, 1984.
Talking about the experience, Das, who plays a Sikh family man in the film, said, “The experience was great. During my interactions with the people at the festival, I informed them that I am not normally a person you will see at film festivals because of the kind of films I do but 31st October being my first drama needs to be showcased at a platform like London Indian Film Festival."
"The movie is a simple story of a family set at the backdrop of a big day in history. It’s a simple story about how you try to save your family and do everything required to save them,” he said.
On his part, talking about the film, writer and producer Harry Sachdeva said, “It's a true life story of a Sikh family in 1984 that got trapped in their house when the city was ripped apart by anti-Sikh riots following the assassination of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. ‘31 October’ is an edge-of-the-seat thriller about true grit and heroism.”
