Australian Open: Grigor Dimitrov reaches last 16 stage of tournament
Melbourne, Jan 19 (IBNS): Beating Andrey Rublev, tennis player Grigor Dimitrov reached the fourth round of the Australian Open here on Friday.
The Bulgarian defeated his opponent 6-3 4-6 6-4 6-4.
The match, which was evenly fought by two players, lasted for more than three hours.
In the last 16 stage, he will either face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Nick Kygrios.
“These are the most important matches for me, when things are not working and I’m able to find a way,” Dimitrov was quoted as saying by Australian Open website.
He said: "I knew what to expect. I knew what I had to do, but certain things in my game are not working at the moment. I’m just pleased to win the match. "
