BCCI receives conflict of interest complaint after Dhoni named Team India mentor: Reports

Mumbai/IBNS: The Indian cricket board's apex council has received a complaint of conflict of interest against its appointment of former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the Team India mentor for the upcoming T20 World Cup, media reports said.

Former Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association life member Sanjeev Gupta has sent a letter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) apex council alleging Dhoni's inclusion is a conflict of interest as one person can't hold two posts, citing a clause in the Lodha Committee reforms.

Dhoni is also the captain of Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings.

Dhoni, who retired from international cricket last year, had created history by winning the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007.

The BCCI has also announced the 15-member squad for the mega tournament, which will be played in the UAE and Oman from Oct 17 to Nov 14.

Team India will also be steered by skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri in the mega tournament.
