Brazil today warmed up late and mesmerized the packed crowd with their  typical style of ball control and  delectable passings. They ould have won with a bigger mergin if they could convert the chances they had in the second half.

The first half saw  Germany  dominating over their traditional rivals.

After surviving an early hiccup when Brazilian midfielder Pulinho’s shot, off a combined move hit the post in the fifth minute, Germany found their rhythm and consolidated their moves. With their midfield  moving like a well oiled machine, Germany forced  a number of attacks on the Brazilian defense   and moved ahead in the 19th minute  following a penalty.

The penalty was awarded when  Brazilian defender Lucas Halter   fouled  German medio  John  Eboha  inside the box.  German skipper ARP  Jann- Fiete neatly converted the spot kick to provide the much needed lead(1- 0)).

The  lead provided the much needed boost to Germany who are yet to win the title of this tournament so far  though they made it to the final  once in 1985  and they produced a barrage of attacks on rival goal . On the other hand  Brazil , the winners of this event thrice out of five times they played in the title clash failed to live up to the expectation and remained defensive. In the entire first half. Though their front liners Paulinho and Lincoln  displayed some individual brilliance , but that was not enough to break the tight  German defence.

The second half saw Brazil going all out for an equalizer  and dominated the proceedings  but failed to cash in on the chances inspite of breaking  the  rival defence  twice in the initial part of the second half.  After German defender Josha Vagnoman  headed over a chance off a flag kick  in the 55th minute, Brazilian defender Lucas Halter’s  header missed the target narrowly in the 59th minute. Soon they forced another gilt edged chance but Paulinho failed to connect a  Lincoln pass fron inside the boz with  empty goal.

Brazil finally  restored parity in the in the 71st minute . This time  Weverson, who came in the second half, found the target with a powerful shot from left side of the box following another fine combined move.

Weversons powerful  beat German keeper hands down (1-1).

Inspired with the equalizer the top south American side pressed up their attack further  and  after missing a chance to scored , they  finally took the lead  in the 77th minute through Paulinho  who  beat German custodian Luca Plogmann with another powerful drive from top of the box ( 2-1) amidst roaring cheers from a capacity crowd  of  a little more  than sixty six thousand.

Germany went desparate towards the end to restore parity but Brazilian defence managed to withsnad all the German attacks to keep their fort in tact.
