Kolkata/IBNS: Brazil defeated India 4-0 in an international friendly at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Saturday.

Brazil took the lead in the first half through Estêvão, who capitalised on an opportunity to put the visitors ahead.

Pedro then doubled Brazil's advantage before the break, leaving India with a two-goal deficit at half-time.

India attempted to respond after the restart but found it difficult to break through Brazil's defence and create clear scoring opportunities.

Samuel Lino extended Brazil's lead in the second half before completing his brace in stoppage time to make it 4-0.

The result gave Brazil a comfortable victory in Kolkata, while India will take away the experience of facing one of international football's most decorated teams.

India will take on Uruguay in the second friendly at the same venue on October 6.
