Caroline Wozniacki wins Australian Open title

Melbourne, Jan 27 (IBNS): Ending a memorable fight,  Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki beat Romanian Simona Halep to clinch the women's singles Australian Open title here on Saturday.

She won the grand slam for the first time in her career.

Caroline defeated her opponent and also regained the number one ranking.

Caroline win the title by beating her opponent  7-6 (7-2) 3-6 6-4.

Caroline will now replace Halep as the number one player in the world as the fresh ranking list will be unveiled on Monday.

Adding to record books, she also became the first Dane to win a Grand Slam singles title.
