Day-night Pink Ball Test changes strategy of a playing team: Virat Kohli
Kolkata/IBNS: After thrashing Bangladesh by an innings and 46 runs, Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli on Sunday said the strategy of a playing team gets altered due to the lights in day-night Pink Ball Test match.
Addressing a post-match presentation, Kohli said, "I think the afternoon session was relatively easier.
I had a talk with Sachin Tendulkar and he said probably we will have to treat the second session as the morning session with the pink ball.....The planning, declaration strategy changes. The setup of a batsman changes. With the lights getting on, a set batsman can find himself in trouble very quickly."
Regarding his own batting, the skipper said, "Luckily I went out to bat when the lights were on so I didn't have to go through the transition but that will be another challenge in future as well."
Kohli was one of the architect of India's innings and 46 runs win with his 136-run innings on day two of the Pink Ball Test match on Saturday.
After Bangladesh were bowled out cheaply for 106 in the inaugural innings, India declared their first innings at 347/9.
Though Mushfiqur Rahim tried hard to save Bangladesh's innings defeat with his 74, Indian pace battery bundled out the visitors for 195 in the second innings.
