India beat Australia by nine wickets in first T20I match by D/L method
Coming out to chase a revised target of 48 runs in six overs, India, quite comfortably reached home with nine wickets in hand.
Though India lost Rohit Sharma for just 11 (7) early in the chase, Shikhar Dhawan and skipper Virat Kohli clinched the victory for their team with three balls to spare.
Earlier, losing the toss, Australia came out to bat and had put up a poor show with the bat.
Australia could only score 118/8 in 18.4 overs when rain interrupted the play.
Aaron Finch was the top scorer for Australia with 42 (30).
With this win, India lead the three-match T20I series 1-0.
