India beat Malaysia 2-1, lift Asia Cup title

Dhaka, Oct 22 (IBNS): In a memorable match, India defeated Malaysia 2-1 to lift the Asia Cup Hockey title here on Sunday.

The stadium in Dhaka was filled up with joy and emotions when the final hooter was played as India once again captured the title of becoming the supreme powerhouse of the game in Asia.

India had moved to the final of the tournament by beating Pakistan 4-0.

Ramandeep Singh gave India earlier beak by scoring the first goal in the third minute of the game.

India were 1-0 up in the moment.

India increased the margin to 2-0 when Lalit Upadhyay  scored the goal in the 29th minute.

Shahril Saabah reduced the gap by scoring the only goal in the match for Malaysia.
