Chennai, Apr 9 (IBNS): Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets in an Indian Premier League match at MA Chidambaram Stadium here on Tuesday.
Chasing a low target of 109, Chennai took 17.2 overs to win the match.
The hosts scored 111/3 in 17.2 overs.
Faf du Plessis was the top scorer for Chennai. He remained unbeaten at 43.
Despite a half century by Andre Russell, Kolkata could score only 108/9 in 20 overs against Chennai.
Except Russell, the entire batting line up of Kolkata collapsed against the men-in-yellow.
Russell, who took time to fire on Tuesday, scored unbeaten 50 off 44 balls. He hit five fours and three sixes.
Deepak Chahar was the best bowler for Chennai. He picked three wickets for 20 in four overs.
