IPL: Mumbai Indians beat Kings XI Punjab by 5 wickets
Chasing Punjab's 168 for five, Mumbai reached 170 by losing five wickets with five balls to spare.
Credit went to Pollard and Aditya Tare (16*) as they added 44 runs in the sixth wicket partnership to reach the winning score.
Pollard hammered two boundaries and two sixes in his 12-ball knock while Tare's fast paced 6-ball 16 was equally needed at that point.
Losing two quick wickets of Ben Dunk (3) and Ambati Rayudu (8) with 23 on thew scoreboard, Mumbai's innings was stabilised by Chidhambaram Gautam (33).
After Gautam departed, skipper Rohit Sharma (39) and Corey Anderson (35) added 53 runs on the scoreboard to inch Mumbai further towards the target.
Sandeep Sharma and Rishi Dhawan picked up two wickets for Punjab.
Earlier, Punjab posted 168 for five on the scoreboard with Bengal wicket-keeper
Wriddhiman Saha top scoring with his unbeaten 59. He hit four boundaries and three sixes in his knock.
Glenn Maxwell continued his good form in the tournmament and scored 45 off 27 balls.
Harbhajan Singh picked up two wickets for Mumbai.
Returning to India proved good for Mumbai as the side registered a victory finally.
