IPL: RCB restrict KKR at 131

None of the KKR batsman, except Sunil Narine could apply themselves and  failed to negotiate the not so vicious bowling from RCB.

While, Yajuvendra Singh Chahal emerged as the chief wrecker  with three KKR scalps, conceding 16 runs off  4 overs.

T R Mills and P S Negi bagged two wickets each giving  31 and 15 runs off 4 and 3 overs respectively.

Sunil Narine , going to open the KKR innings after they were told to bat by Bangalore captain Virat Kohli, sarted in his usual fashion taking 18 runs with three fours and a sixer off Samuel Badree in the very first over.

Inspired with Narine’s heroics, KKR skipper Gautam gambhir   tried to match his partner.

But he made his exit shortly when he was caught by Jhadav off medium pacer Mills in the 3.4 over with total reading 48.

Gambhir, who is passing through a lean phase, made 14 facing 11 deliveries and hitting one four and a six.

KKR lost their second  wicket two overs later.

This time Narine made his exit. Trying to hit out Stewart Binny , he gave a catch to Chahal  just at the boundary line  after making 34  off 17 balls and delighting holiday crowd with six hitting to the fence and an over boundary.

The exit of Narine brought  Manish Pandey into the crease and the duo  was expected to maintain the run rate.

But that was not to be as the hosts received another jolt  four balls later.

Robin Uthappa, who scored highest for KKR in their last match against Gujarat Lions, failed to read  a delivery off  RCB spinner Samuel Badree correctly and was declared LBW  with  their total reaching  66 in six  point two overs.

RCB struck another blow  as Yusuf Pathan , who came three down , fell to the guile of   spinner Chahal. As Yusuf   went ahead and missed the line, wicket keeper  Jhadav promptly dislodged his stmps. Yusuf scored  just 8 runs off 8 deliveries.

Chahal today rose to the occasion  and ran through the KKR middle order claiming twomore wickets – those of  Manish pandey and C de Grandhome  cheaply in the 11th  over. Pandey scored 15 and and Grandhome made 11.     

The hosts  reached the century mark losing six wickets in the 14th  over  and their total read 107 at the end of the 15th over.

The tail of KKR  could not add much to their total as they were all out  for 132 runs in 19 point 3 overs  setting an easy winning target of  132 runs  for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
