Mumbai/IBNS: The television broadcasting and digital media rights of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a period between 2023-2027 are sold at a record amount of over Rs. 43,000 crore, various media reports said.

This has put the valuation of each match at Rs. 100 crore, an unprecedented amount in Indian cricket.

Global retail giant Amazon had earlier pulled out of the bidding, reports said.

Earlier, Star Network had surpassed Sony Network in winning the bid for the 2017-2022 period at Rs. 16,347.50 crore.

The cost of an IPL match had then increased to Rs. 55 crore.

In 2008, when the cash rich T20 tournament had begun, Sony Pictures Network had won the bid for 10 years at Rs. 8,200 crore.
