Jadeja relinquishes CSK captaincy to Dhoni

Mumbai: After a poor start in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday announced that Ravindra Jadeja has decided to step down from captaincy and has requested former skipper, MS Dhoni, to resume the captaincy.

The all-rounder has taken the decision to focus and concentrate on his game.

"Ravindra Jadeja has decided to relinquish captaincy to focus and concentrate more on his game and has requested MS Dhoni to lead CSK. MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest and to allow Jadeja to focus on his game," the Chennai-based franchise said in a release.

Jadeja was handed over the reins of CSK just two days before the start of the 2022 season after Dhoni stepped down from the duties.
