Kyle Edmund defeats Grigor Dimitrov to reach Australian Open semis

Melbourne, Jan 23 (IBNS): Britain's Kyle Edmund defeated Grigor Dimitrov, in a stunning match, to move to the semi-finals at the Australian Open here on Tuesday.

He reached the semi-finals of a Grand Slam event for the first time.

Edmund defeated his opponent  6-4 3-6 6-3 6-4 in the match that left spectators stunned.

Edmund has become the sixth British man to reach the last four at a Grand Slam in the Open era.

He s ranked 49th in the world.

He will now clash top seed Rafael Nadal or sixth seed Marin Cilic in the semi-finals clash to book a berth in the final event.

Edmund called the victory as 'amazing'.

"With these sort of things, you are so emotionally engaged that you don’t really take it in, you don’t really enjoy it. So at the end of a hard match, I just tried to enjoy the moment," he told the tournament website.
