New Delhi, Dec 16 (IBNS): Indian President Ram Nath Kovind wished Indian badminton star PV Sindhu for winning the year ending BWF World Tour Finals tournament.

The official Twitter page of the President read: "Congratulations @Pvsindhu1 for winning the BWF World Tour Finals title. This is an appropriate finale to a fulfilling year for you and for Indian badminton. May 2019 bring even greater glory #PresidentKovind."

Indian badminton star PV Sidhu added one more record to her name when she won the BWF World Tour Finals tournament by beating Nozomi Okuhara on Sunday.

Sindhu became the first Indian to win the title.

She claimed a 21-19, 21-17 win in the final.

This is the Indian shuttler's first title of the year.

The win is especially significant as Sindhu was unable to win a single tournament this year.

Sidhu has won several important titles in her career so far.

Her victories include winning the silver medal in the last Olympic games.
