Pullela Gopichand better teacher than sportsman: PM Modi

"After the Olympics, there was a lot of praise for Pullela Gopichand. Gopichand has shown what it is like to be a good teacher. I consider him a better teacher today than a sportsman," said Modi while addressing his monthly radio address 'Mann Ki Baat' on Sunday.

With September 5 nearing, which is celebrated as Teachers day in India, Modi said the day should be considered for learning as well.

"September 5 is the birthday of former President Radhakrishnan. He always used to say a good teacher is that who keeps their inner student alive," the PM said.

Speaking on the importance of gurus, Modi said teachers spend their lives caring for their students.

The PM also invited students across the country to share their experience with their teachers on his app.
