Sashank Manohar resigns as ICC Chairman citing personal reasons

DubaI, Mar 15 (IBNS) : International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Sashank Manohar resigned on Wednesday, citing 'personal reasons,' reports said.

The surprise move comes shortly after the ICC  refused to take any action against Australian captain Steve Smith in the 'brain fade' issue in the Bengaluru Test.

Manohar ,  a former President of the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI).  had taken over as independent ICC Chairman on May 12, 2016. His tenure would have ended after  eight months.
