Sourav Ganguly hasn't spoken to me about MS Dhoni yet: Virat Kohli
Ranchi/IBNS: Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli on Tuesday said Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president-elect Sourav Ganguly hasn't spoken to him yet seeking clarity over Mahendra Singh Dhoni's future as a player in the national side.
"I congratulated him (Sourav Ganguly). It is great that he has become the BCCI president but he hasn't spoken to me yet over it (Dhoni's future). He will get in touch with me when he has to," Kohli said after clinching a 3-0 Test series win over South Africa.
When he was pestered, the skipper smiled and said, "What do I say about it? I will meet when he would call me."
When asked about the retirement of Dhoni, who took a sabbatical after the 2019 Cricket World Cup, Ganguly after getting nominated as the BCCI president said he will talk to the selectors first as he was "not in the picture" before.
Ganguly also said he would also like to talk to Dhoni to know what he wants and what he doesn't.
Though Dhoni's sabbatical is over, the Indian selectors have repeatedly insisted on giving chance to new wicketkeeper-batsman keeping the 2020 T20 World Cup in mind.
Meanwhile, the selectors will pick a team for India's three-match T20 series against Bangladesh on Oct 24, a day after Ganguly will take charge as the BCCI president.
