Talking to Sachin Tendulkar makes things easier for me: Yuvraj Singh
Mumbai, Mar 25 (UNI) The left-handed Indian team all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who scored 53 runs off 35 balls for Mumbai Indians (MI) against Delhi Capitals (DC) in their first Indian Premier League (IPL) match, feels that talking to cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has paid off once again and also said that when the time comes so he will hang his boot.
"When the time comes, I will be the first one to hang up my boots. I spoke to Sachin (Tendulkar) as well and he has gone through such a time at 38-39. Talking to him makes things easier for me," Yuvraj said in a post-match press meet here on Sunday.
"In the last two years, I have been up and down. I started playing the game as I enjoyed this and then I was not playing for Indian team. It was Under-14, Under-16, so till the time I enjoy, I will play," the 37-year-old cricketer added.
Yuvraj Singh, who was playing for MI for the first time in the cash-rich T20 league, also lauded DC's 21-year-old wicket-keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant who decimated the Mumbai Indians' bowling attack.
"He (Pant) had an outstanding season last year as well. He is playing well in Test matches as well. To score two hundreds overseas at such an age (21 years) shows his character," the veteran batsman said.
Yuvraj last played for Indian cricket team in June 2017.
This fifty came in a losing cause as DC defeated MI by 37 runs in their opening game at Wankhede stadium here on Sunday.
