Third test : India declares second innings at 216/3, set up 475-run target for Kiwis
This gives India almost four-and-a-half sessions and a minimum of 135 overs to bowl the Kiwis out and sweep the series 3-0.
A brilliant unbeaten century by Cheteshwar Pujara (101), completed with a boundary, and a solid knock of 50 by Gautam Gambhir steered India to the position where it left the game for the visitors to take up the gauntlet.
Pujara was ably assisted by Ajinkya Rahane, not out with 23 after skipper Virat Kholi was dismissed for 23.
Starting the second session on an individual score of 50 and a team total of 127 for 2, Pujara got going immediately, as did Virat Kohli, his partner.
After India had added 109 runs in 28 overs in the morning, with Gautam Gambhir going great guns, Pujara took charge after lunch, finding the boundaries with drives, late-cuts and sweeps to keep the scoreboard constantly moving.
