Antigua, July 22 (IBNS): Resuming at an overnight score of 144 runs, Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli registered his maiden double hundred, here at day two of the first Test match against West Indies.

At lunch on the second day, Virat is unbeaten at 200 runs. Partnering him at the other end is Ravichandran Ashwin, who is unbeaten at 64 runs.

By virtue of his double hundred, Virat became the first Indian captain to do so in foreign shores.

This is also his highest first class score, beating his previous best of 197 runs, which he scored way back in 2008.

India have put on 404 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
