Islamabad, Aug 22 (IBNS): Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has welcomed return of international cricket to his country.

Akram tweeted: "The country is alive tonight! Im so proud to see my country in full flight & to be a part of this amazing Nation in 2017 #PakistanZindabad."

"I grew up watching my heroes play right before my eyes, now this generation will be able to do the same InshAllah #CricketIsComingBackHome," he said.

With West Indies' tour to the country in November, Pakistan is all set to host international matches at home, media reports said on Monday.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi on Monday said the West Indies team will tour to Pakistan for three T20s in coming November.

However, before the matches to be held, a security team of the ICC will visit to give a clearance.

"Cricket West Indies and the Pakistan Cricket Board are advancing discussions that will see the Windies team playing 3 T20 matches with the Pakistan cricket team in Lahore in late November 2017" a statement released by the Pakistan Cricket Board said.

The statement further added that the tour would be subject to the safe conclusion of the ICC World XI team's three match series in Lahore in September.

"Andy Flower will be the manager of the World XI team, rest of the names will be announced in 72 hours" Sethi told media.
