Young cricketers try too hard on social media to become something which they are not: Yuvraj Singh

Mohali/IBNS: Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has recently spoken about the influence of social media on young cricketers during an online interaction in the lockdown days.

During an Instagram live with Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, Singh said as quoted by Hindustan Times, "I feel they try too hard. They become what they are not when they are on social media."

"I have seen many players who are otherwise very decent but on social media, they become something else," he added.

Agreeing with the southpaw, Bumrah said the young cricketers seek validation on social media.

Earlier during online interactions, Singh had criticised the Indian team for not being able to find his alternative who could bat at number four position.

Apart from the Indian team, Singh and Bumrah had shared dressing room for Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians.

Due to the pandemic Coronavirus, the IPL 2020 has been postponed for an indefinite period of time.
