7 Afghan security forces killed during Taliban attack

| @indiablooms | Jul 22, 2020, at 10:46 pm

Kabul/UNI: At least seven Afghan security forces were killed in a Taliban attack in the southern province of Kandahar on Wednesday, according to police chief Tadin Khan.

The Tolo news agency reported that clashes erupted in the province's Takhat bridge district after Taliban militants attacked security checkpoints, killing seven security forces members.

The security forces found “Pakistani ID cards on the Taliban terrorists who were killed in Afghanistan and Marouf,” police added.

The northern Afghan provinces have been the scene of heavy clashes between Taliban and security forces for years.

In May, at least 17 soldiers were killed and several others were injured after Taliban militants attacked military camps in two Afghan northern provinces.
