7 Taliban killed in Afghan, Coalition Forces operations in South of Afghanistan

Kabul, Jan 15 (IBNS) :At least seven Taliban militants have been killed during the separate operations of the Afghan and Coalition Forces in three southern provinces of the country.

Local Khaama Press quoted military sources as having confirmed that a coalition air strike in Shah Joy district of Zabul killed 2 known Taliban bomb facilitators and attack coordinators.

The sources further added that the Afghan Special Operations Forces conducted a raid in Tarin Kot city of Uruzgan province, killing 2 Taliban fighters.

In the meantime, Coalition air strikes in Nahr-e Saraj and Garm Ser districts of Helmandn left 3 Taliban fighters dead while a weapons cache was also destroyed.

Both the Afghan and Coalition Forces have stepped up ground operations and airstrikes against the anti-government armed militants in the restive parts of the country.
