Afghanistan: Airstrike kills four people in Maroof district
Kabul, Oct 5 (IBNS): An airstrike in Afghanistan's Maroof district in Kandahar province killed at least four people on Friday, media reports said.
The incident left eight others injured.
Taliban attacked Khogyani and Ishaqzai villages in Maroof district on Thursday night but were faced with government forces’ resistance, the media office of the provincial governor said in a statement as reported by Tolo News.
He said the Afghan National Police force members asked for air support and Taliban had hidden in people’s houses and therefore civilian casualties happened in the airstrike, reported the news portal.
Taliban has not commented on the issue so far.
