Afghanistan: Unidentified gunmen kidnap doctor in Kabul

Kabul, Mar 27 (IBNS): Unidentified gunmen have kidnapped a doctor in Afghanistan's capital city Kabul, media reports said on Tuesday.

According to local media reports, the doctor was associated with Ibn-i-Sina Hospital in the capital city.

The kidnapped doctor has been identified as Dr. Asadullah Zarabi.

Dr. Asadullah Zarabi, a cardiologist, was kidnapped last night at around 8:40pm, the Kabul police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Brig. Gen. Dawood Amin told the Afghanistan news agency Dr. Asadullah, 54, was abducted on his way home from the hospital.

He said two people have been detained so far.

He confirmed that investigation into the matter is still going on.
