Dhaka/UNI: The Bangladesh government on Wednesday extended the ongoing covid-19 restrictions till July 15 to contain the infection spread.

The curbs, which were supposed to end at midnight today, will remain in place till July 15, a notification issued by the Cabinet division said.

Public and private offices were allowed to open with strict compliance of Covid-19 guidelines.

Delta variant of coronavirus has spread in several border districts of the country.

To control the second wave of coronavirus infections in the country, the government had imposed restrictions for seven days from April 5, 2021.

Later, it was extended for two more days. As the cases surged, complete lockdown was imposed from April 14 to 21 with stricter restrictions. Since then restrictions have been extended many times.
