Bangladesh: Judicial Magistrate dies of COVID at Jhalokhati

Dhaka/UNI: A senior judicial magistrate Sania Akhter died from COVID-19 infection on Wednesday morning at Jhalokhati Barishal.

Sania died at 1100 hours at Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH).

Supreme Court spokesperson Md Saifur Rahman informed media.

SBMCH Director Dr Ms Saiful Islam said Sania was seven-months pregnant.

Sania’s husband AHM Imranur Rahman is also serving as senior judicial magistrate in Jhalakati.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain expressed deep shock at the death of Sania Akhter.

He also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq also expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Sania Akhter.
