Bangladesh: RAB officials arrested six suspected JMB terrorists

Dhaka:  Rapid Action Battalion RAB (RAB) officials have arrested six suspected members of  banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Savar region of capital city Dhaka on Sunday.

The arrested were identified as Habibur Rahman alias Badsha (48), Saidur Rahman (55), Mahbubur Rahman alias Dudu (55), Shafiqul Islam Shafiq (37), Omar Faruk Rubel alias Sunny (28), and  Golam Mostafa (51), reports Dhaka Tribune.

Rab-4 Senior Assistant Superintendent of police Sajedul Islam told the newspaper that on a tip-off, a team of Rab-4 arrested the six after conducting a drive in Badda-Bhatpara area of Savar early Sunday.

According to reports, several extremism provoking books and leaflets and seven mobile phone sets were recovered from their possession.

"The arrested will be handed over to Savar Model police station after filing a case," said Sajedul.
