Bangladesh: Six-year-old raped

Dhaka, Aug 24 (IBNS): A six-year-old was allegedly raped in Chowgachha upazila of Jashore area of Bangladesh by a youth, media reports said on Saturday.

The incident took place in Debaloy village in the upazila around 3:00pm,Saiful Islam Shohag, a sub-inspector of Chowgachha Police Station, told The Daily Star newspaper.

One Shib Roy, 19, of the same village allegedly raped the girl, the police official said quoting the victim’s mother, reported the newspaper.

The victim was taken to Chowgachha Health Complex and provided primary treatment there.

Later, she was shifted to Jashore 250-bed Hospital as there was excessive bleeding, Munjurul Islam, duty doctor at the emergency unit of Chowgachha Health Complex told The Daily Star.

The police are trying to nab the accused in the incident.
