Imran Khan's PTI trolls India after latter suffer historic batting collapse in Australia; netizens call activity 'disgusting'

Islamabad: Netizen came down hard on Pakistan's ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party after the latter tried to troll India with a post related to cricket on Saturday.

It all started after the Indian men's cricket team, who are presently touring Australia, got out cheaply and ended up losing the first Test match of the four-match series.

After posting 244 runs in the first innings of the day-night Test match, India managed to get the home team all out inside 200 runs.

However, the visiting side could manage only 36 runs in their second innings, setting a target of 90 runs for Australia, which they scored while losing just the two wickets.

To put things into perspective, the Indian team started the third day of the Test match at 9 for the loss of one wicket and went on to lose eight more for just 27 runs.

Their last batsman, Mohammad Shami, sustained a blow in the arm and was declared retired-out after he failed to bat any longer.

It was a collapse like no other, perhaps the worst in the history of Indian cricket.

This collapse left many confused and angry, while some saw the lighter side of things, commenting on how fast the team went down.

To make fun of the situation, PTI tweeted: "Too many collapses recorded in India recently
1) Collapse of AirForce 2) Collapse of Constitution 3) Collapse of Journalism (check @DisinfoEU) 4) Collapse of Economy 5) Collapse of Leadership Collapse in Cricket (All out on 36) may not be most shameful."

However, netizens were not at all happy with a political party trying to mix sports and politics and urged the PTI to mend their ways.

"Please don't mix Politics in Cricket being a @ImranKhanPTI Supporter, I request you," said one user.

"Yr who is running this account? Disgusting," another user tweeted.

Another tweet read, "Please Delete it It's Not Good Coming From an Official Account Who have been Ruling Pakistan This is Disgusting."

While Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan advocates sports not be mixed with politics, his party does not practice what he preaches.
