Kabul, Apr 19 (IBNS) At least 28 people were killed in a coordinated attack on the VIP protection unit in Afghanistan's Kabul city on Tuesday, media reports said.

The incident left 327 others wounded.

"A heavy explosion occurred in front of the unit in the 16th police district of the capital, allowing a number of fighters to enter and exchange gunfire with security forces at around 9am," Pajhok Afghan News reported.

Abdul Basir, one of the injured, told the news agency: “I was in a hotel when a strong explosion occurred. My room’s caved. I don’t know what happened next.”

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
