Militant attack leaves 9 security personnel dead in northern Afghanistan

Kabul/UNI:  Nine members of the Afghan security forces were killed and three injured when militant's attacked the police headquarter's of northern Kunduz province.

According to an officials spokesperson, the assault took place last night in the Dasht-e-Archi district.

Four militants were also killed in the attack and six others wounded, Tolo News reported.

On Monday, Javid Faisal, the spokesman for Afghanistan's Office of the National Security Council, declared the past week to be the deadliest in 19 years, with the Taliban conducting 422 attacks and killing 291 Afghan security personnel.

Meanwhile, the prisoner exchange process between the two sides is still continuing.
