Pakistan Army Captain dies in Balochistan IED blast

Quetta:  A Pakistan Army captain died and two other security personnel were hurt as an IED blast rocked  Balochistan region of the country on Sunday, media reports said.

A security forces vehicle struck an IED planted by terrorists in Tobo, Gichik Balochistan, the ISPR told Geo News.

"Resultantly Capt Kashif embraced shahadat while two soldiers got injured. The injured soldiers have been evacuated to a medical facility at Khuzdar," read the statement issued by ISPR as quoted by the Pakistani news channel.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid condemned the incident.

"Terrorists cannot dim our courage with cowardly attacks. We are fighting the terrorists with full force. We will defeat them," he was quoted as saying by Dawn News.

PML-N president and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif tweeted: "Sad to learn about martyrdom of Capt Kashif in a terrorist attack on a security forces' vehicle in Balochistan. The nation salutes the sacrifices of our armed forces to defend the motherland . My condolences & thoughts are with the bereaved family of Shaheed."
