Pakistan: Four carriages of train derail, 12 killed

Quetta, Nov 17 (IBNS): At least 12 people died as four carriages of a Rawalpindi-bound train derailed in Pakistan's Bolan district on Tuesday, media reports said.

The mishap left 100 others injured.

"Four carriages of a Rawalpindi-bound train which left Quetta Railway station were derailed near Abegum area of Bolan district, some 75 kilometres from Quetta city," Akbar Hussain Durrani, home secretary of Baluchistan, was quoted as saying by Geo News.

  Durrani said the brakes of the train failed.

Officials arrived at the spot to resume rescue and relief operations.
