Pakistan: People find trouble as inflation rate touches 12.7 pct in March
Islamabad: People in Pakistan might be facing more troubles as the inflation rate jumped to 12.7 percent in March.
The country witnessed a significant rise in the prices of perishable food items both in urban and rural areas.
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported on Friday that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose to 12.7 percent in March over the same month a year ago, reports Geo News.
The national data collecting agency reported a 33.63 percent increase in prices of chicken, 15.17 percent in fruits and an 8.32 percent surge in prices of mustard oil, hitting every household adversely.
Similarly, the PBS reported a 7.79 percent increase in liquefied hydrocarbons and a two percent increase in construction input items in March over the same month of the last year, the news channel reported.
